I have always loved sewing, especially hand needlework. My mother did, too, but she was born blind, and even with her huge Coke bottle glasses, she just couldn't see well enough to manage her sewing machine. She told me if I could fix it, it would be mine. With manual in hand, I corrected the bobbin tension and got it running. I've never stopped sewing since.
Now I use new, old, vintage, and antique fabrics to sculpt cloth art rag dolls, animals, creatures, accessories, forest flora, bags, and slow stitched art pieces.
Most of my original creations were born from a need to invent something that was not readily available on the market. Over thirty years ago, I made my first quilted bib for a messy husband. Later, I hand crafted wash and dryable dust-mop covers and reusable cotton boy doggie diapers, a necessity for the little alpha male markers in my life.
Over time, I have collected mountains of new and old cotton, linen, blended fabrics, and art supplies. I've upcycled scraps and bits to make quirky Boho accessories, but now and then, I de-stash my hoards and list small lots of fabrics here on Etsy.
